The owner of a local animal refuge was recently contacted about a cat believed to be an abandoned domestic pet. The cat, described as a medium-sized, long-haired tortoiseshell, was spotted on a hillside outside of town. When staff members from the animal refuge arrived on the scene they found not only the cat, but also the collar and lead. The cat was extremely friendly and appeared to be well cared for. Staff members believe the cat was either lost or abandoned. They brought the cat back to the refuge and posted flyers throughout the area. After several days with no calls, staff members from the refuge began to lose hope. Then, on the eighth day after the cat's arrival, the refuge received a phone call from a woman named Lisa. Lisa told the staff members that she had seen the flyers. She said that her cat, named Princess, had gone missing over a week ago. Lisa went to the refuge and was ecstatic to discover that the cat was indeed her beloved Princess. Lisa was overjoyed and grateful to the animal refuge for rescuing her pet. She expressed her thanks to the refuge for taking such good care of Princess and for returning her to her rightful owner.
