Merlin told the king that the reason for the walls falling was the existence of two dragons living under the castle. He suggested that the king should dig up the ground and see for himself. The king's men dug up the ground and found two dragons (one red and one white) fighting each other. The dragons fought, until the white dragon fled and the red dragon won. Merlin then explained that the red dragon represented the people of Wales and the white dragon represented the Saxons (the English). He predicted that the people of Wales would eventually win against the English. This prophecy came true. Years later, when Merlin was an old man, he became King Arthur's most trusted advisor. He helped Arthur in many ways, including the choice of his sword Excalibur and the establishment of the Knights of the Round Table. Merlin also helped Arthur find the Holy Grail, the cup from which Jesus drank at the Last Supper. It was believed that whoever drank from the Holy Grail would have eternal life. Merlin was a powerful wizard, but he was also a kind and just man. He used his powers to help others, and he was always loyal to King Arthur. He was a true hero. There are many legends about Merlin, and he is still a popular figure in literature and film today. He is a symbol of wisdom, magic, and loyalty.
